AJP acknowledges that a companion animal is part of the family. We will therefore encourage employment legislation to include compassionate and sick leave for companion animal death and sickness. We will include companion animals in probate and guardianship laws so that they can be adequately cared for after the death or incapacitation of a human guardian.

Where it is practical we will support pets on public transport. We will discourage discrimination against tenants with animals. 

AJPANZ will end the commercial breeding of companion animals. Animates already have a policy of only sourcing animals from shelters.
